I am sure you have used the Google® search engine (as well as many others), as an example perhaps you are looking for “toys for big dogs”, you type this phrase into the search box
and click on the Google Search button. Within a second a search results page appears
. The results page lists web sites that are specialising in “toys for big dogs”. If you have a website that is selling “toys for big dogs” you would try one way or the other to get listed on that results page. The search phrase “toys for big dogs” is also known as a keyword phrase.
So if you are promoting a web site or web page that is selling “toys for big dogs” you will need to design the page and get links to that page that help to get your web site on that first page of Google®. The same process is used for promoting and getting visitors to your PSBO mini-site.
As an example of how to select your keyword phrase I am going to use a property that I have for sale, this is a cave house in Granada, Spain. You can see the mini-site here.
The art of choosing a good keyword phrase is to find one that has a reasonable number of searches each day but does not have so much competition that your page will never be found on the search engines unless you take extreme measures. My first guess is that “property for sale granada” might not get enough searches but “properties for sale andalucia” might be OK. So how do I test my guess?
