Los Guájares consists of three smaller villages, Guajar Faraguit,Guajar Alto & Guajar Fondon. The villages lie to the west of themain N-323 road running from Granada to Motril. Each of the villageslies on the minor GR-So-13 road and the Rio de la Toba.
The first of the Guajares - the village of Guajar Faraguit hasseveral bars, two small supermarkets, a butcher, a baker and anhairdresser. Further up the valley, about ten minutes of drivingthrough some fabulous scenery, is the pretty village of Guajar Alto,which has several bars. Two bars Los Olivos and Carmen serve very goodlocal food. Continue up and over the Sierra de Guajar, you will be findspectacular views above the village and the hills to Albunuelas. On aclear day you might even see Morrocco! Below Guajar Faraguit lies thevillage of Fondon which has a bar serving good pizzas.
The main road down to the coast takes about thirty minutes fromFaraguit. Following the main road inland you come to the city ofGranada.
